Energiekontor commissions repowered Oederquart wind park and expands own park portfolio

Press release from 16 February 2026

Bremen, 16 February 2026 – Energiekontor AG (“Energiekontor”), a leading German project developer and operator of wind and solar parks based in Bremen and listed in the General Standard, has put the repowered Oederquart wind park into operation. With this step, the Group’s own portfolio has grown by approx. 17 megawatts to a total of around 450 megawatts. In addition, more than 200 megawatts – also earmarked for Energiekontor’s own portfolio – are currently under construction. Once completed, these projects will increase the company’s portfolio to about 650 megawatts. The additions include wind and solar parks with a combined capacity of more than 120 megawatts, scheduled to commence operations in financial year 2026, as well as another 85 megawatts planned for financial year 2027. The target for expanding Energiekontor’s own portfolio is expected to rise even further as further projects reach financial close during the financial year 2026.

Energiekontor originally planned and built the Oederquart wind park in the Stade district of Lower Saxony, Germany, more than 25 years ago. During the repowering phase, ten legacy turbines with a total nominal power of 15 megawatts were to be replaced by six new, more powerful wind turbines, bringing the new total generation capacity to around 33 megawatts. The project was awarded an EEG feed-in tariff in 2023 as part of the November tender by the Federal Network Agency. It achieved financial close in spring 2024. Half of the wind park was sold in summer 2024, and the other half was to contribute to the expansion of Energiekontor's own portfolio upon completion.

Six Enercon E-160 EP-5 wind turbines have now been installed at the site. Each turbine has a nominal power of around 5.6 megawatts, a hub height of 120 metres and a rotor diameter of 160 metres. The wind park is expected to generate an average annual yield of around 80 gigawatt hours starting from its first full year of operation. Half of this production will contribute to Energiekontor’s electricity generation income. The electricity generated each year is enough to supply around 24,000 average households with renewable energy and to save about 60,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.

As announced on 29 December 2025, with the commissioning of the repowered Oederquart wind park, the total generation capacity of the Group-owned wind and solar parks has now returned to around 450 megawatts. This capacity is distributed across 35 wind parks and four solar parks. In the current financial year 2026, three further wind and solar projects with a combined nominal capacity of more than 120 megawatts are also scheduled for completion and will be added to Energiekontor’s own portfolio. This includes two German solar parks in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, with a total generation capacity of around 113 megawatt peak, each of which has a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), as well as a single wind turbine in the district of Verden in Lower Saxony, Germany, with a capacity of around seven megawatts that has received an EEG feed-in tariff. In addition, further parks with a total of around 85 megawatts are under construction and are expected to be transferred to the company’s own portfolio in 2027, with a view to expanding it to approximately 650 megawatts. Additional projects intended for the company’s own portfolio are also expected to reach financial close in the current financial year 2026.

“The commissioning of the Oederquart wind park once again underscores how important repowering old plants is for achieving the expansion targets for renewable energies in Germany,” says Peter Szabo, CEO of Energiekontor AG. “This project is also a good example of how existing infrastructures can be efficiently upgraded using modern plant technology, thereby generating stable long-term returns. At the same time, we are creating planning certainty for our partners, investors and for ourselves as an independent power producer. The ongoing income from our own portfolio ensures that we remain capable of acting and allow us to consistently drive forward our project development over longer periods of time.”

About Energiekontor AG

For 35 years, Energiekontor has stood for a solid business policy and extensive experience in renewable energies. Founded in Bremerhaven, Germany, in 1990, the company is among the pioneers in its industry and is now one of Germany’s leading project developers. Its core business ranges from the planning and construction to the operational management of wind and solar parks in Germany and abroad. In addition, Energiekontor operates 39 wind and solar parks with a total nominal power of around 450 megawatts in its own portfolio. Around 200 megawatts, which are also earmarked for the Group's own portfolio, are currently under construction. Energiekontor also plays a pioneering role in economic terms and aims to realise the first wind and solar parks in all target markets at market prices as quickly as possible, independently of state subsidies.

Along with its headquarters in Bremen, Germany, Energiekontor has offices in Bremerhaven, Hagen im Bremischen, Aachen, Augsburg, Berlin, Potsdam and Hildesheim. The company also has branch offices in England, Scotland, Portugal, France and the United States.

Since being established, Energiekontor has a proud track record of realising more than 170 wind and solar park projects with a total nominal power of over 1.5 gigawatts. This corresponds to an investment volume of more than 2.3 billion euros. The significantly expanded project pipeline in the 2024 financial year (11.2 gigawatts excluding US project rights) shows the future growth potential and the possible contribution that Energiekontor can make to the expansion of renewable energies.

Energiekontor AG (WKN 531350/ISIN DE0005313506/General Standard) is listed on the SDAX of the German Stock Exchange in Frankfurt. Shares can be traded on all German stock markets.
